Karla was inspired by and involved with art from a young age; inspired by her uncle Albert West, Karla decided to become an artist herself.
An important aspect of Karla’s artistic expression is the integration of her modern designs with traditional formline and cultural traditions that inform her work as an artist.
Karla began painting First Nations designs when she was 18 years old.
