Roy Henry Vickers

Roy Henry Vickers is a well known and celebrated Tsimshain artist, known for his prints and carvings. In 1972, Roy trained at the Gitanmaax School of Northwest Indian Design in Hazleton, BC. Roy built his own gallery 'Eagle Aerie' in Tofino, BC in 1986 and a year after, in 1987, he presented the original painting "A Meeting of Chiefs" to Queen Elizabeth II. In 1993, a serigraph titled “The Homecoming” was presented to Bill Clinton and Boris Yelton at the Vancouver Summit. His work was also represented at the Commonwealth Games in Victoria, BC in 1994. He is influenced by artist Vernon Stephens and is a past president of the Northwest Coast Indians Artist’s Guild.
