Originally Commissioned by Conference of Catholic Bishops
The original design was carved and painted on a red cedar panel for the Canadian Catholic Conference Art Collection. John the Baptist is shown as a shaman wearing a Chilkat blanket, while the young chief Christ wears red cedar bark regalia. John holds a raven rattle. The Dove of Peace is depicted as a thunderbird.
