John Brent Bennett
John Brent Bennett is a Haida artist, specializing in printmaking. In 2003, John graduated from the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, Vancouver, BC. For his final project he carved a 12 ft. totem pole. John enrolled at Concordia University (Montreal, QC) in 2004 and went on to obtain his masters degree in Fine Arts, specializing in Printmaking. In 2010, John was featured in the 'A Tale of Two Artists' exhibition which was held at Vancouver's Bill Reid Gallery. Additionally, John has collaborated on a number of projects with his mother, Joyce Bennett, a well known Northwest Coast clothing designer. She utilizes motifs drawn by John for her applique textiles. John is the nephew of acclaimed Haida artist, Robert Davidson.
