Mark Preston
Mark Preston is a Tlingit artist born in Dawson City, Yukon in 1960. He began his study of engraving precious metals with renowned Gitksan artist, Phil Janzé, while attending K’san in Hazelton, BC. Mark draws inspiration from both European art and Northwest Coast art. In the realm of Native art, Mark is influenced by the works of artists such as Bill Reid, Robert Davidson, and Roy Henry Vickers. Recently, he has been creating large-scale glass pieces in addition to his jewellery and prints.
