In Northwest Coast mythology Bu-quis was a woods dweller who was sometimes seen alone on the beach eating cockles. He was greatly feared because he ate human beings. Bu-quis appeared in the traditional art only as a mask used in certain dances, but here Tony Hunt interpreted him in a flat design.
